If you grew up building plastic models, but never became so skilled at building them that they looked like the models on the boxes, then this is a way to collect models that are professionally assembled. Expensive collectable die cast models can be found at these dealers. Notice the farther away from Los Angeles a dealer is, the lower the prices; and the closer inside, namely the Beverly Hills dealers, the more specialized and more expensive the prices. The ultimate hobby shops for die cast collectables are "Pegasus Hobbies" in Montclair, CA, and "Ultimate Hobbies" in Orange, CA. They have the biggest selections of everything. The "Frank & Son Collectible Show" is an indoor swapmeet of entrepreneurs selling die cast miniatures, paint ball, baseball cards, and other collectables. The Beverly Hills dealer Beverly Hills Motorsport has a great selection selling a few brands' complete lines of models, but at hideous jacked-up prices, charging least double the price the items are usually selling for elsewhere. If you're a collector, you'll irresistably visit all of them. "21st Century Toys" makes assembled plastic military minatures who detail is amazing. Most of these cars are imported from Thailand, Taiwan, and UK where collecting such miniature cars has been popular for decades. Most shopping malls have at least one die cast dealer in a tiny store or pushcart.

These "design centers" are huge buildings with many floors and showrooms of individual furniture makers. These showrooms look like movie sets, small and packed with furniture and decorations. These people usually contract out to large corporations or rich people who want custom furniture that matches their architecture, interior designs, and sensibilities. You can meet the people who will actually hand-make your furniture. Also inside these buildings are individual artists's galleries. Their prices are expensive and these malls look desolated and you'll wonder how they stay in business without customers.

REJECTION Unless you are fabulously filthy rich wealthy or famous or look like a fashion model, in Los Angeles, you're considered to be "ugly" and are subjected to a life of receiving abuse, humiliation, and rejection. Hollywood and the media have successfully brainwashed everyone into being materialistic and shallow. Most people are "average" in attractability, but the mass-media and social-networking have deluded people into believing they are above-average and so are holding out for the pool the most attractive people. Many women believe in a "6-6-6 dating rule" where some women only date men who are six feet tall, have a six-figure income, and possess six-pack abs. Before MTV and cable-TV, people just used to like to look at beautiful people, not worship them. Celebrities such as actors didn't have to be beautiful people before 1980, not really. Now the current batch of actors and pop stars are talentless mediocrities who've only got where they are by their photogenic/telegenic looks and massive media marketing machines. Now everyone is brainwashed into wanting trophy friends that are beautiful people. But you can not fault people for that, the advertising on TV is intensive. Some people unfortunately become addicted to plastic surgery to cope with feelings of inadequacy.
